Christmas Festivities December 30, 2021
We shared some wonderful Christmas moments this year, despite the pandemic
Despite the restrictions that are in place, staff worked very hard this season to make Christmastime special for our residents and tenants.
We started decorating in November and continued right up until Christmas Day! Our residents painted the windows, cut snowflakes, trimmed countless trees, made Christmas cards, crafted centrepieces and ornaments and wreaths, baked gingerbread, decorated cookies, and wrapped gifts. Christmas carols were sung and egg nog and Christmas cookies were enjoyed. Residents sent Christmas cards to family. We even had a punch out Advent calendar. Long-term care residents received Christmas dinner in our dining rooms and apartment/wellness suite tenants received individually-packaged Christmas dinner to their door! Though visits and group activities were small, it was wonderful to spend time enjoying the season with friends and family.
Thank you to NOTL Horticultural Society for providing a poinsettia for each of our Pleasant Manor residents, to Sunshine Express Garden Centre for providing a poinsettia for each of our tenants at both sites, to Orange Lily Group for providing personalized Christmas presents for some of our residents through your Sponsor a Senior initiative, and to the Community Group of NOTL for once again gifting our Pleasant Manor residents with stockings to open on Christmas morning. These gifts, as well as the many cards and well wishes, brought our residents and tenants joy and hope this Christmas season.
