Students send joyful postcards to Pleasant Manor residents November 26, 2020
Pleasant Manor residents were thrilled to receive colourful and encouraging postcards from grade 1-3 students at Wheatley School. Thank you for brightening our days!
A handwritten card speaks to care and consideration, and we definitely felt that with this latest thoughtful outpouring from local students. Grade 1 to 3 Students a Wheatly School, with the help of their teacher Marion Griese, created artwork in the form of postcards that they have shared with our residents at Radiant Care Pleasant Manor. As you can see in the images below the joyful colours brought smiles to our faces!
The students wrote simple messages such as “have a nice day” or “you’re awesome” on the postcards. Griese said they were all excited about the assignment, and she said it was an opportunity to have her students think of how other people are experiencing the pandemic.

Residents at Pleasant Manor in Niagara-on-the-Lake are likely smiling a little more these days, thanks to a St. Catharines art educator and her elementary school students. Marion Griese, a St. Catharines-based artist and art educator, teaches art to students in Grades 1 to 3 at Wheatley School, and her classes’ most recent project was to create postcards with positive images and messages to “spark joy” for a loved one as well as a resident of Pleasant Manor…
