Happy Mother’s Day May 10, 2020

We will be showering all of our special Moms with a little extra love today through flowers, cards, and kind words. They deserve it!

Though moms are physically distanced from their children this year due to COVID-19 visitor restrictions, Radiant Care is helping connect moms with their children through video calls where possible. Staff are also delivering cards and sharing videos that have been emailed in by children. Pleasant Manor is helping moms living in Long-Term Care share personal messages with their children through a photographed whiteboard message that is emailed to their children.

The act of “mothering” is such a significant part of who many of our Radiant Care moms are. Through our training in Montessori and dementia care, we have learned how reinforcing our residents’ identities brings them comfort, joy, and purpose. We see this practically as they continue to pour out their love on both their grown children and the new babies they care for everyday in our home through our Doll Therapy program. To make the day a little more special, Pleasant Manor is serving a special Mother’s Day menu and Tabor Manor is serving a tasty Mother’s Day dessert to treat our moms (and all residents)!

Also, thank you to Hunter Road Greenhouses for gifting all of the moms in our Tabor Manor long-term care home and wellness suites with beautiful orchids. You brought so much joy!
