We are incredibly blessed! Leading up to Thanksgiving, we took some time to reflect on some of the things we’re thankful for.
Thanksgiving is a time for reflecting, looking back and looking forward. We celebrated Thanksgiving with a special turkey dinner for long-term care residents at each of our homes and we spent time discussing the things we are thankful for. We are incredibly blessed! Leading up to Thanksgiving, we took some time to reflect on some of the things we’re thankful for:
We are thankful for seasons; both weather-related seasons and the seasons of our lives. We are grateful that there is always something new coming, something to look forward to, a reason to hope. We look forward to a time when we will be able to socialize more and re-engage in all of our regular routines. We are grateful to be able to enjoy the season of Autumn, which brings fresh air, beautiful colours, cozy clothing, and an abundant harvest.
We are thankful for refreshment and transformation… both physical and spiritual! We are thankful that God restores our souls and refreshes our spirits. We are thankful for those in our community who refresh us through their words and actions.
We are thankful for our residents and tenants, who make our homes into supportive and loving communities. We are thankful for the unique gifts, experiences, and contributions of each person who has chosen to live here. Sometimes all it takes is a smile to brighten everyone’s whole day!
We are thankful for a loving and dedicated staff team. Our staff are incredible! Their love is evident in the way they care and serve every minute of everyday, regardless of the circumstances. In these past few months, they have gone above and beyond to safely carry our homes through new challenges, while also providing a little extra love and support to our residents and tenants along the way. Thank you for serving!
We are thankful for our community, which extends far beyond our property boundaries. Thank you to our families, volunteers, donors, visitors, friends, and supporters. These past few months have been extra challenging without you in our homes but thank you for staying connected and for all the support you have provided to all of us living and working here. You are an integral part of who we are, and your love and support mean so much to us!
We are thankful for beautiful and comfortable homes to live and work in. We are thankful that our homes are well-equipped with the spaces, furnishings, and equipment we need to provide a full continuum of high-quality care. We are thankful for spaces that are warm and safe and familiar. Our homes really do feel like home!
We are thankful to live in Canada. We are thankful for a country that is beautiful and safe!
We are thankful for all the little things: hot baths, tasty treats, big hugs, warm smiles, video chats and phone calls, sunshine, a cool breeze on a hot day, turkey dinner, and a million more! Happy Thanksgiving!
