New Strategic Plan & ReachOut Issue #28 May 23, 2019

Radiant Care and our Board of Directors have unveiled our 2019 – 2022 Strategic Plan! View it here, along with the rest of our quarterly ReachOut newsletter.

Reachout issue #28: apr – jul 2019

Leaders in Growth, Leaders in Community

Radiant Care and our Board of Directors have unveiled our 2019 – 2022 Strategic Plan. Called Leaders in Growth, Leaders in Community, the Plan lays out the main priorities that will guide decision-making and governance over the next three years.

Radiant Care invited a variety of stakeholders to have their say regarding the road map that will guide our organization for the next three years. We asked them to envision the boldest possible future for Radiant Care, in order to positively impact our programs and services, and support the people we serve and employ. Following several focus group discussions with a representation of residents, tenants, families, employees and volunteers, as well as community partners, a number of themes emerged that then provided the basis for discussion and decision-making by the Board of Directors. The deliberations resulted in the following three Strategic Priorities:

Priority #1 – excellent, top-quality client experience, delivered responsibly; evidence-based and verified by robust data.
Priority #2 – Human Resources development, centred on the recruitment and retention of passionate, qualified and dedicated employees.
Priority #3 – Methodically planned growth, ambitious but measured, to meet consumer and market demand and preference.

We are excited to embark on the next three years, focused on the people we serve, a top-notch team of employees, and an eye to growth.

Innovative Growth and Partnerships

Reachout issue #28: apr – jul 2019

Radiant Care’s exciting partnership with Niagara College continues to expand. Coming in September, 2019, the Tabor Manor site will be hosting a class of Niagara College PSW students for daily learning in a ‘living lab’ environment. Several former Long-Term Care rooms at the south end of the campus are available for use. These are being retrofitted to model an actual Long-Term Care environment, giving the students the best in experiential learning. We look forward to welcoming our Niagara College guests for the fall semester.

Relational Excellence and Cultural Preservation

Reachout issue #28: apr – jul 2019

It was a pleasure to honour our wonderful volunteers at Volunteer Appreciation events held in April. At both our Pleasant Manor and Tabor Manor sites, guests enjoyed a high tea with the theme ‘Grow With Us’. Volunteers can be found throughout our homes – running the Tuck Shop, speaking or singing at chapel services, greeting visitors at the Welcome Desk, visiting residents, and so much more. We are so grateful for our many volunteers!

Specialization in Dementia and Palliative Care

Reachout issue #28: apr – jul 2019

If you haven’t visited the Radiant Care website lately, you may find some new and interesting additions. Our News and Events section will provide you with stories and photos of some of the activities our residents have been enjoying. And a new addition to the web site, our Montessori page, will introduce you to the Montessori Approach to Dementia Care. Here you will find stories of individuals whose quality of life has been positively impacted by Montessori, as well as ideas for families to use Montessori activities for meaningful interactions with their loved one.

I feel honored to be part of such a reputable organization that makes me feel valued and respected. The professionalism of every team member, at every level, is something I have never experienced in my 40 years in the workforce. The wonderful team and the amazing tenants here at Radiant Care Pleasant Manor have inspired me to come to work each and every day and carry out my duties with Excellence, Love, and Dignity.

What I love most about working at Radiant Care is knowing that I am a part of such an exceptional and established team. I love working with all of the residents on a day to day basis and learning from them all the time. Each day is different. Each day is filled with smiles and each day is filled with growth. That is absolutely amazing. Radiant Care is amazing.

The Spirit Is On The Move

A change has been happening at Pleasant Manor—new carpets, paint, artwork. It’s all quite nice. Recently we were reminded that a new look is coming to us as well. Through Jesus’ death and resurrection, which we celebrate at Easter, God began a new work in us which goes beyond a simple facelift. But a total transformation that will be completed when Christ comes again. While in the season of Lent we make this our hope.

The recent fire at the Cathedral of Notre Dame raises an important issue. As sad as it is, the Bible tells us that, even though buildings may be destroyed, ‘God does not live in temples made by man.’ (Acts 17:42) God is a Spirit, and we can continue to worship God in spirit and in truth, no matter what! (John 4:24) Be encouraged this Easter Season! We can enjoy the presence and power of God in our lives through faith in Jesus Christ as Saviour and Lord, no matter where we are!
